Why Membership Matters in the AG:
Commitment: It moves beyond "spectator religion" to active involvement in the church's mission.
Community: Membership creates a structure for pastoral care and mutual accountability.
Function: It allows individuals to formally use their spiritual gifts to serve the body.
Membership Eligibility Criteria:
Salvation: A personal testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.
Baptism: Water baptism by immersion.
Doctrine: Agreement with the AG Statement of Fundamental Truths.
Commitment: Willingness to support the church through tithing and attendance.
Consistency: A lifestyle consistent with biblical standards
The Process:
Application/Course: Many local assemblies require attendance at a membership class or meeting with the Pastor to understand the specific church's vision and beliefs.
Attendance Requirement: Regular attendance for 3 months.
Approval: Formal approval by the church leadership (pastor/elders).
Is Membership Required?
No it is not required: Membership is just another step in your Spiritual journey, many like the idea of being a member. But everyone is free to move at their own pace as the Lord leads you.
